Indoor accuracy training is going to end and outdoor training will start soon. It was fast. Cannot believe that two months later we will cast on grass. But - did the indoor training help us to improve our results?
Some national angling districts check the casting ability of their caster by regular indoor competitions. Each district has its own competition strategy, some of them has one competition per month (among December and March), some of them adds more events than only spinning arenberg and spinning skish (like multiplier skish, spinning distance with light version of plug). Moravian angling union prepares 4 competitions per indoor season, always with 2 weeks period during January and March. Casting just for spinning arenberg and spinning skish, both for 3 round of them. If there is free time, multiplier skish is added.
Jihlava's local part of union is preparing the action as 2nd competition in order. No exception for this year bud place in near town Dolní Cerekev. Moms of several young Jihlava casters prepared beautiful sweet gifts (gingerbread hedgehog - a symbol of Jihlava city) for each caster and snack bar for everyone participating the competition.
35 casters from Moravian angling union came, mostly from Kroměříž. We also welcomed 18 casters from Moravian-Silesian district and 12 south Bohemia district of Czech angling union. So 65 casters competed.
A few months before the competition old Jihlava caster met each other at special event talking about their memories and casting as young member of clubs. There an idea of old school guys competition arose. And really - 15 casters living in different places of republic - Pilsen, Slavkov, Pardubice.
So in the Saturday morning 80 casters were ready to compete. Never had so many caster at any other indoor competition prepared by Jihlava so far.
It was planned as competition of arenberg and skish for option to cast multiplier skish in case of free time enough to do it.
Casters had 5 arenberg courts prepared for 3 round, the 6th court was prepared for old school Jihlava casters. Unfortunately without expectation sun came and placed light in the court. It was not easy to cast left and right casts.
Before the skish sun was eliminated by sunblind's and casting was better. 9 courts was prepared for spinning skish and the tenth for old school casters. Although no much idle time anywhere, time was fast and then multiplier skish could not be prepared. There only 20 minutes left for whole competition after arenberg and skish. But the main part was finished in time.
The youngest category "boys up to 12 years" had a great fight between Adam from Jihlava and his biggest rival, Honza from Chropyně. Honza won first round of indoor league and Adam wanted to win the second one. It was also necessary to check Václav and Kryštof (Pelhřimov and Ostrava), that had also good result and we did not know how good Václav will be.
At first round only Honza and Adam had over 80 points, Adam 2 points more than Honza. At second round both had over 90 point, Honza had 2 points more that time. Deuce.
Both nervous as we were able to see. Each wanted to beat the other. Based on that no one had more than 80 points at third round, Honza had 2 points more.
Václav and Kryštof could not reach 80 points at any round so they fought for 3rd place. Václav had 6 points more.
At skish Honza had one zero less than Adam. Both got over 80 points and Honza was leading with 7 points more than Adam. At second round Adam fought and missed only 3 times, Honza missed 5 times. So Adam did lead with 3 points more than Honza. Because of nerves Adam missed 4 times at last round. Sad feelings were suddenly replaces with happiness feelings, Honza had one missing more. So Adam was the winner 8 points more than Honza.
At fight for 3rd place Václav started with 20 points more than Kryštof at first round. Bud Kryštof had 5 points more at second round and next 15 points more at last round. The had the same skish results then and better arenberg decided that Václav gained the bronze medal.
At older boys "up to 15 years" we had two caster of Jihlava. But we knew about Pelhřimov guys, Jarda and Matěj and we knew about Matěj from Kroměříž, winning the first league competition and Tomáš from Brno being 3rd very close to Honza. Another great competition.
First round moved Moravian caster to lead, both had better results than boys from Pelhřimov. But they both had over 90 point at second round as the only boys of category and
moved to 1st and 2nd place. Honza was missing 16 points and was 4th behind 3rd Matěj of Kroměříž. At last round Honza had perfect result and got close 3rd place.
After arenberg Honza was 4th missing 8 point to 3rd place and on 5th place we found our Petr casting constantly above 70 points.
At spinning skish boys from Pelhřimov showed up that they are much better than the rest of category. At first round they had result 15 points above the other. Honza lost less than Matěj and moved to 3rd place having 2 points more. At second round Honza had the best result with only 3 zeros and secured his 3rd position. Even Petr got great result at second round but last round was bad and Petr place 7th position. Other guys tried to reach position of Honza but he did cast second best result of the round at his category and stayed at 3rd position.
At junior girls category Kristýna fought against her friend from Moravian-Silesian district. Hard do fight against Táňa, Anička and Eliška. But Kristýna was improving her casting during indoor trainings.
First round Kristýna won leading 6 points above Anička and Eliška. At second round Anička had the same result as Kristýna at first round and Kristýna had the same result as Anička at first round. Eliška did bad casts and stayed on 3rd place. At last round Kristýna did her best result so far - 98 points. Unfortunately for her, Anička had 100 points and was leader after arenberg. Kristýna was missing 2 points, Eliška was missing 18 points.
At skish Eliška and Anička missed only twice, Kristýna three times. At second round the same situation but every girl had one miss more. So Anička was leading by 12 points and Eliška was 8 points behind Kristýna. Fortunately Kristýna had the same result as Eliška at last round and placed silver position. Anička had one zero more but stayed at 1st position with 7 points more.
The most exciting competition was at ladies category. Fight between two best casters of World cup 2021, Lucie of Bohumín (2nd place at World cup) and Zuzana of Ostrava (winner of World cup). Almost every time they met at competition it is really great exhibition of casting art. Sometimes especially at indoor competitions even men have problem to cast as good as those two ladies.
And it really was exciting from the beginning. Both had 100 points at first round. At second round Zuzana had 8 points twice so 96 points. Lucka had the same at last round. So both ladies had 296 of 300 possible points after arenberg. At third place we saw Julie of Velké Pavlovice having always over 90 points but missing 10 points for 1st place.
At first round of skish Zuzana had 100 points again. Lucie missed one target. Both ladies had 100 points at second round. Everyone knew if Zuzana wanted to win she could not have more than 1 missed target in case Lucie would get 100 points. And Lucie really got 100 points. It was up to Zuzana. And Zuzana missed 5th cast of 20. No one knew if she would be able to miss another target no more. And Zuzana missed no other target. Zuzana won with only 2 points above Lucka.
Third place belonged to Julie.
No man could cast so many 100 points rounds like the first two ladies. Lucka had 3x 100 points, Zuzana 4x 100 points.
The closest result between winner and 2nd place happened at men category. 3 men from Jihlava did cast there. Jirka and Tomáš fought each against the other mainly and it was nice fight. In some round new personal records were casted. Finally Jirka won being 6 points better than Tomáš.
The last guy of Jihlava Karel started with 100 points at first round of arenberg, same as Lukáš of Kroměříž had. At second round Karel missed once but had 2 points more than Lukáš and keeping 1st position. At last round Karel had 100 points again and had best summary result of all caster at competition. Closely Lukáš of Kroměříž and Jirka of Velké Pavlovice both being 6 points behind Karel.
At skish Karel was not that successful. One miss at first round. Fortunately for him, Jirka had one missed target too and Lukáš had two missed targets. Second round looked like a copy of first round, Karel and Jirka missed once, Lukáš twice. At last round Jirka and Lukáš had 100 points and were waiting if Karel miss. For being winner Karel could not miss more than once. And he really missed only once. So Karel was the winner, second Jirka had only 1 point less. Lukáš was at third position having 10 points less than Jirka.
At the same time competition of old school caster from Jihlava was running. They had enough time to test how much they forgot or on the other hand how much they still remembered. Junior European and world championship medal honored casters were there too like European champion of spinning distance and 3 medals owner Pavel Vaněk, European champion of arenberg Michal Přibyl, world champion of arenberg and 5 medals owner Aleš Průša or owner of 13 medals and first czech lady being junior world champion of pentathlon 3 times in a row, Klára Musilová.
Competition consisted of one round of arenberg and one round of skish. During free time all were looking at old photos and plays who was who 35 years ago.
Michal Přibyl became the winner. Michael Příhoda was the second and Aleš Průša placed the 3rd position. But for all we had gingerbread hedgehogs prepared too.
The competition was finished at time. All meal prepared disappeared almost an hour after beginning of the competition and moms had to prepare another meal. Probably everything was tasty.
So this was the competition. Now we are preparing our selves for outdoor competitions starting from April.
