So we started spring part of outdoor season 2022. Last year autumn we left knowing we had some problems with plug accuracy events and would be necessary to train them more. During winter indoor competitions we saw improvements. Also first outdoor trainings seemed to be fine. So we participated first outdoor competition with big expectations.
Kroměříž hosted first competition of Moravian Angling Union. Traditional rivals from Velké Pavlovice, Jihlava and that time also young casters from Brno 3 arrived. So 32 casters were ready to start.
Our Jihlava club went there as 4 boys, 3 men and 1 Ostravian lady team. Two boys should cast heptathlon even they were only 11 and 13 years old. The only girl of our team did not participate for some reason.
Adam started with only 3 zeros' at fly skish. The result 85 was the best fly skish result of both boys-12 and boys-15 categories. He also had 20 points more than his biggest rival Jan of Chropyně. Another more points Adam got at arenberg even there were some mistakes during left and right casts. Big problem he had at spinning skish because of the sun but almost every boy had the same problem. Jan erased 5 points from Adam's lead.
At fly distance Adam got over 35 meters with both longest casts. He got 74 points and another points for leading. His current event maximum increased by 2 points. At another event, spinning distance, Adam had another improvement as he casted 59 meter long cast. Another 11 points over his event maximum.
So Adam won his first outdoor competition of this season at category of boys-12 years and got new personal record missing only 0.2 points for 400 level. If only he had one right cast at arenberg event better...
Only Petr had really bad day from our guys of boys-15 category. Well, not everything was bad. 70 point of fly skish is the same result as his personal record. But really bad arenberg and spinning skish let him down. Fly distance was his new personal record increased by 5 points but spinning distance again bad. Well, better have bad competition at beginning than at end of season.
Jan started with new personal record at fly skish increased by 20 points. But Matěj of Kroměříž was 20 points better. So trying to erase his lead. Erasing by only 2 at arenberg but new personal record of this event, increased by 12 points. Next personal record at spinning skish increased by 20 points and leading over Matěj. Fly distance... well, almost o training, we will have to change the technique completely. Loosing only 10 points was not so bad. But Matěj did beat Jan by spinning distance even new personal record of Jan increased by 5 points. Finally Jan gained 3rd position under Matěj, but he increased his pentathlon personal record by great 70 points.
And the best of our boys - Vojta. And another personal records rewriting. He starter with 5 zeros at fly skish. Then he gained his best arenberg result - 94. Spinning skish was his 2nd best result ever. During fly distance Vojta casted over 50 meters for his very first time and got 97 points counting his two best casts. New personal record improved by 5 points. At spinning distance he got over 60 meter for third time and with that cast he got his new personal record at pentathlon, increased by 1 point.
Zuzana casted against our Moravian ladies and she was really unpleasant. She had only 2 points of target loss that no other lady and even no other man gained. Then she got 12 points more at fly distance that other ladies and at spinning distance she needed 53 centimeters to gain 100 points.
So Zuzana won with no doubt. She got only 0.43 points less than her personal record. In man category she would gain 6th place.
Jirka and Tomáš fought each against other again and help themselves to reach better results. Jirka made Tomáš nervous when casting 25 points more at fly skish. Well, Tomáš did the same to Jirka with casting 22 points more at arenberg. Jirka got in mood when casting spinning skish badly. Walking around us he said something like "I hate that yellow ..." and entered inside a building so we could not hear the end. But he felt better when we gained more than 100 points for his third time. Tomáš was not so good at this event. But he casted his new record at spinning distance and made his personal record of pentathlon, increased by 14 points. Jirka got over 400 points line for second time, he missed only 5 points to beat his personal record.
At fly skish Karel did care only of time, not result. And really - he got 85 points but he was happy for the time 0:01:00. Then he surprised him at the other accuracy event when casting 100 and 100 points. And he also was very lucky during fly distance. With big support of wind we gained 8 points more than other men. He also had second best cast of spinning distance of men so he won the man category.
As we want to be prepared for future, our best boys started with double handed events and heptathlon.
At salmon (fly distance double handed) Adam got over 90 points and Vojta even over 100 points.
At 18g (spinning distance double handed) Vojta had only the secure cast inside the court, laughing that he nearly got more points with his single handed event.
Adam used kraft and got over 80 meters, beating even two men.
So both boys got over 600 points and have the line for trying get over it. For junior category they need at least 100 points more.
Tomáš had absolutely no time to train salmon and we saw that in result. Jirka had 30 points more. Tomáš had more at 18g event than Jirka but it was only about 2 points more. Tomáš was better in pentathlon, Jirka was better in heptathlon.
Karel had found some technique at last year Cup of Prague so he tried it at this competition. Probably it was still working, both casts got over 80 meters. No other guy did it too. At 18g Karel had a cast that was the third best of all men, only Lukáš of Kroměříž and Jan Bombera junior were better. So Karel won heptathlon too.
Well, it seems l'entrée was great. We will still have to improve some events but anyway, it was really nice watching others beating their records like an year ago.
