Main season of official Czech calendar starts with league competitions. In case of no Covid and similar problematic guys. This year everything goes fine so far. It is quite far from our homes so we moved to small village close to Bohumín on Friday. Following the instruction boys had huge bags being much heavier at one side so we could imagine which part contained food and where clothes were located.
In the morning another 11 teams came with us to football court. We had to deal having our team consisted of only three boys as the fourth one had played basketball following his leg injury. But we were aiming on our psyche anyway so results and team position in rank was not so important. The mind seems to still be the biggest problem.
The wind was quite calm during target events. There was no wind during preparing fly skish probably but during preparing the rest, the wind came and we found out the fly skish was not placed well. Wind went to front, not to back of body. But not so powerful, should not be a dramatic problem for anyone. Yes, it was moving the line to left some times and to right other times. Nothing that would not happen again in future competitions. Better learn to fight with it at league than at nomination competitions.
Wind got stronger while distance events. Lucky casters casting in the beginning of fly distance, wind wend to right of body. Later it went the opposite direction and some casters had problem not to hit them selves. Spinning distance was without any complication.
Your guys were fighting with them selves mostly.
Petr was so great during training but when competition started he could not concentrate for casting and he failed at almost everything.
The biggest difference between training and competing we saw during fly distance. During training we had casts over 40 meters without any problems. Then start became and he could not make a real cast. The line just flew randomly without energy and was falling around 30 meters. No improvement during whole 5 minutes. After the time he just did a cast to get the rolled line out of court and the cast got over 40 meters again.
Same problem at spinning distance. he could not get the plug into court. We had to do safe casts to have at least some meters for team. On the other hand, this was only second competition Petr had and he got over 300 points again. The best part probably waits for other competitions.
Jan had to learn new things, we had to cast fly skish 2 minutes faster to finish the event in time, and we had to change the casting technique at fly distance.
Fly skish finished in time. The end was not about points, that is true. Aiming on time. But there was a small improvement comparing to last competition. Also improvement at arenberg and losing 5 points at skish. The targets are still limiting us.
At fly distance Jan finally found his style and he got each cast 2 meters longer comparing to last competition. Great action. Spinning distance again over 45 meters so pentathlon was very close to 300 points again.
Adam improved all target events. Overall he had 24 points more comparing to last competition.
Fly distance was great, one cast flew as wished and so Adam got over 40 meters for his very first time. The second cast was 5 meters shorter but the sum is new personal record too.
At plug distance the first cast was the best one again. Technical cast with only small support of wind so a few centimeters below 60 meters line. The second best result of Adam so far. Thanks to that he got over 395 points in pentathlon again. The 400 points border still resists and it seems we will get over it soon.
Well, boys did beat one team having 4 casters, very young casters of Bohumín "C" team. Very close but below Frýdek-Místek.
Jihlava placed 11th position and let us see if we move higher next time.
If there would be a ranking of individuals, Adam would be 12th, Petr would be 20th and Honza would be at 23rd position.
