Known since 1884. Named "Skills of fishing" since 1939, later shortening to "Skish".
Some kind of accuracy/skish casting we know since first competition at Czech lands (Jindřichův Hradec, 1935). Cast from one point and at one target, some times having crossbar in front of the target. Special event for Czech lands. With metal plug casting to sand and distance from the middle of target measuring. Then the sand cleared again for next cast.
Spinning skish already at first world championship of ICF in 1957. One with 17.72g plug and second one with 10.5 grams plug. CIPS was using plug of 7.5 grams
Aside the arenberg having 4 different kind of casting, spinning skish leave the casting technique on decision of caster. Nothing special specified. Mostly casters do cast having plug above the rod. The easiest style. Some children start with plug below rod for first 3 targets because it looks to be easier to hit the target.
Accuracy event, simulation of spinning fishing like arenberg.
There are 5 targets on the ground of 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 meters dinstances. Each target 76 centimeter diameter big. Front side is 5cm above the ground, back side is 17cm above the ground.
Starting on the left with the smallest distance of 10 meters. Two cast then moving to 12 meters, and so on up to 18 meters. After 10 casts all must be done again from left.
So there are 20 casts. Hitting the target means 5 points, missing is zero. Maximum - 100 points.
Caster has 8 minutes to do those 20 casts. Some time is it hard to do all 20 cast for the children starting with the sport. Nowadays there is a lot of fastened reels made winding from 4.5:1 to 13:1 etc. Then the event can be finished within 2 minutes.
Jana Maisel (Germany) is the best, she won the event for 13 times. Her fastest 100 points done by 2 minutes and 47.9 seconds (Hluboká nad Vltavou, 2011). Kamila Stankiewicz was faster, gained 100 points for 2 minutes and 45.8 seconds (Hluboká nad Vltavou, 2011).
Patrik Lexa is the cast caster of this event. He won it 8 times. First at Varna (1988) beating all men as 16-years old boy. His fastest 100 points was done at 2 minutes and 9 seconds (Düsseldorf, 1993).
